Back To Greece

Aaron left for Greece again this past Sunday. This time US Custom was there for the big meeting. Anyways, everything went well and he will be coming home tonight. The kids and I are very excited. Since this will be Aaron's last visit to Greece he was able to get to the coast and take some really good pictures. Someday we will go to Greece together. That is one of our goals. Then Hawaii, England and Australia. This will probably happen will the kids are all grown up. Beautiful!! Look how blue that water is.

It's been a while since I blogged and I have plenty of pictures to post. I've just been busy lately. Stay tuned!

Wolf Badge

Nicholas received his Wolf badge Tuesday night. He has been working very hard and enjoying himself. We are very proud of his accomplishment. Aaron was so proud of Nicholas. The Wolf Badge was the only Rank Advancement that he did not earn during his Cub Scout / Boy Scout tenure.
Attendance at the Pack Meeting was a little sparse. Each Den is to call out with their Den Cheer when called upon by the Cubmaster. Nicholas and his friend Jason were the only two representing the Wolf Den. They cheered so well and so loudly (kinda) that they earned the Spirit Stick for the month of October. Quite the honor.

Beautiful Day at the Park

Saturday Aaron asked the boys if they wanted to go to the park. The day was beautiful and Aaron didn't want to waste it working on our yard. We took the boys to Chisolm Park in Bedford. We have many memories at Chisolm Park. It is where Aaron took me on a date when we were teenagers and he prepared a picnic lunch. It is also where Aaron lost his wedding band at a family get together several years ago.

Pumpkin Patch

We've been going to this really neat Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound, TX for four years. Every year they always add something new to the place. Aaron and I took the boys there today thinking maybe it would not be crowded. Uhhh...it's Columbus Day and it was very busy. The weather was hot and humid. It's October for crying out loud. I was talking to a Grandma from San Diego and she couldn't stand the heat, but she was out there for her grandkids. What a great Grandma. Locomotion.

More Pumpkin Patch

Cute little pumpkin. They had at least five bounce houses. This is a new one.

We didn't go on the hayride but Nick went on the train ride. This is also new. I love this picture!
Even though the weather was hot we had a great time with the boys. That afternoon we went to the Olive Garden for dinner. We then went to the store and got rained on when we left. The boys had fun running to the car. It was a nice family day.

Boys Campout

The boys had planned an overnight campout at the State Park in Bonham. When they showed up they realized that it was a holiday weekend, Davy Crockett weekend (a big deal in these parts) and 2nd weekend Trade Days in Bonham. As a result, the park was full and an alternate site had to be found. After some searching a suitable site was found at the lake north of Honey Grove.

This campground had other campers but a site was found with close access to the restrooms for those late night nature calls. There had been some rain before arrival, so we needed to set up our tents quickly in case the rain returned. Right after the tents went up, the rain started again. One would think the tents would keep us dry, but no.....

The rain kept coming. So much in fact that it filled up Travis' shoes.
Demoralized (and extremely soaked) we packed up our tents and made way to our alternate sight (Mom and Dad's place in Paris). We enjoyed pizza in air conditioned comfort before sleeping in the tents pitched in the backyard. Well, some of us slept in the tents. Dad and Rob found the close proximity of the beds to be too much of a temptation. Corgan didn't settle down too quickly so he and Travis found themselves going inside to go to bed. Jason's fan broke down sometime in the wee hours of the morning and he went inside and slept on the couch. In the end, Michael, Nicholas, Carter and I slept the entire night outside.

While setting up the tents in the backyard, Travis and Michael complained of running into cobwebs. I took a picture of the culprit the next morning.

It is so much easier to cook breakfast in a fully stocked kitchen. The food tastes better too!
Although we spent a lot of this campout indoors, we still had s'mores.
The boys were really tired and fell to sleep quickly on the ride home.

Greece

Greece... that is where my hubby is today. I'm sooooo jealous!!! My friends think I'm crazy for not going, but I have kids to take care of. Besides, Aaron would be in meetings all day and I would have to venture out on my own. Which isn't fun. Anyways, Aaron left yesterday morning and arrived safely today in Greece at 9am. Today he was able to do some sightseeing before he starts working tomorrow. I think this is Acropolis in Athens. Just before he left on his trip we went out and bought a new pocket size digital camera. I told him I wanted lots of pictures. These are some of the pictures he emailed me today. This place is beautiful.
