Catching Up

on the blog. Check out latest (three) posts. We had loads of fun during the Christmas Holiday. I got my camera on Christmas Eve, but I haven't had time to read up on it yet. We have been busy playing with the boys on the Wii.

Day after Christmas

The day after Christmas we drove up to Paris to spend the weekend with Aaron' folks. We enjoyed our visit and even got some free ice cream courtesy of Grandpa Brown. It only took a little encouragement.

There must have been something special in that free ice cream. I had finished giving the boys their bath and came into the living room and found Aaron and Gaylen knocked out.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning seemed to come a little early. Well...it wasn't really, but Aaron and I are not morning people. Carter was so excited and such a sweetheart when he came in our room to advise us that Santa had visited. Nick was already busy checking out his plunder. Eric was the last to awaken and was in a good mood once he saw his Buzz Lightyear.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent enjoying dinner and presents at the Medeiros household. The weather was cool enough to enjoy a fire in the fireplace. Eric stared at the fire and kept telling everyone that it was hot.

Here is a picture of the boys with their cousins. My how these kids have grown! Also in the picture is Gracie. When we got home from my folks, we realized that we hadn't made any cookies to leave for Santa. We whipped up a quick batch of sugar cookies and decorated them accordingly.

Some of us got a little carried away with the decorating. This kid used up the entire bottle of sprinkles exclaiming the whole time, "Fun! Fun! Fun!".

Christmas 1 - Part A

Saturday was our first taste of Christmas spent with the Hayes side of the family. Thank you Kelly and Travis for welcoming us into your home and being gracious hosts. We had a lot of fun, ate some delicious food, and celebrated Corgan's birthday. The house was filled with lots of laughter, a few tears (the younger kids), lots of noise from ray-guns, and only one small incident. Aaron was suprised that partially digested Nerds and red cake frosting could come out of carpet so easily.

I"m SO EXCITED!!! I can't wail until.......

tomorrow. This is my Christmas present from Aaron and the boys. I could not think of anything that I wanted for Christmas. Aaron had hinted about an iPhone, but I wouldn't really use it. I have always taken a lot of pictures of people I love. I got the shutter bug from my Dad. One of his hobbies was photography. I just plan on doing it for fun and improving the quality of my pictures.


The FedEx website says it should be here Christmas Eve! I am excited to learn how to take some nicer (and sharper) pictures. Yippee!

Busy Boys

I was on the phone today and it got a little too quiet in the other room. When I checked on the boys this is what I found....

Well, it beats finding them in my stamps inking up the walls (which has happened).

New Guest

I thought this Santa was cute and I've been bugging Aaron about getting one. Well, he suprised me Saturday and bought one. The boys like the Chubby Santa a lot. Aaron wanted to wait and set him up in the living room Christmas morning, but I couldn't wait.

I think he looks good outside with our other lights.

Whirlwind Weekend

Each year the city of North Richland Hills has a Christmas gala with outdoor displays and a tree lighting. This year they extended the days the outdoor displays would be open so we thought it would be nice to take some pictures. This was one of the few pictures that has a) all three boys in the shot and b) all three boys looking at me. Sigh.
Eric wanted to kick this ornament. He is such a boy.

These two wanted to lick the display. They are Aaron's sons.

I caught Eric under the tree. I guess it is easy to get around under there as there aren't any presents to block the way.Buddy either got tired or lazy. He stayed in the same spot over the weekend. What is up with that?

Christmas Lights

Sorry for the late post. Sunday's tend to be a little hectic. After church we decided to drive around and look at Christmas lights. We found a website that shows some of the larger Christmas light displays in the area. The display on the video below is only a couple of blocks from Aaron's work. We thought there would be a line of cars waiting to see the display but there were only two cars parked there when we arrived. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did. (BTW, the lights were more dazzling in person).

Space and Grapes

Buddy took to the high ground again. Apparently Eric scares him for some reason.
The night sky was really beautiful last night. As the sun set the sky was filled with shades of blue which I thought was really pretty. Jupiter and Venus were also visible making for a neat shot.
Aaron and I took the kids out to see a Christmas Nativity nearby. Here is a family photo we took.

Reading and Creativity

As I posted earlier, I enjoy Christmas stories. We also like cookies in our family. Nothing better than eating a storybook character. Carter likes his cookie.Whoa! One of these Gingerbread Men is having a bad day.

At Cub Scouts Nicholas worked on some cute crafts.
I especially like the marshmallow snowman.
