Service and Missionary Work

On Wednesday the boys got out of school early (teacher in-service). The Ward Primary had an activity in the afternoon where the kids got together to give service to our missionaries. The kids brought wrapped gifts for the missionaries serving in our Ward boundary. There were various Christmas arts and craft activities where the kids made ornaments for a small Christmas tree. It was fun to share some gifts and crafts with the young men that are serving away from home during the holidays.

Here is Nicholas pointing out his bright red candy cane ornament. Unfortunately Carter was being "camera shy" and avoided being in any of the pictures. I thought this was a neat game idea. "Santa" was written on cards in various languages then the kids were to associate the cards with the appropriate country. Nicholas got it right!!! Eric has taken a liking to playing the piano. I attempted several times to keep him from playing a tune, distracting the other children. Finally I gave up and took his picture. Should I tell him that neither one of his parents has a lick of musical talent?

Here are the missionaries enjoying some of the presents the kids brought for them. It is neat to see the sincere smiles on the faces of these young men. The tree was decorated with the ornaments the children had made earlier.
