Some fun pics

Everyday Buddy the Elf finds the coolest place to hang out.
This was taken on Dec. 1st we went to the Holiday Christmas tree lighting in NRH with my sisters and her kids. When these kids were younger they enjoyed having their picture taken. Now that they are older it's not so fun. At least Frosty is smiling:)
This past weekend Aaron and his Scout troop went camping. They had loads of fun even though it was cold (temps in the high 30's, wind chill in the 20's). They went to Dinosaur Valley and went hiking at night for the first time.

Playtime with Friends

I watched my friends three kids while she went to scout with her two older boys. Dallin, Kimberly and Brittany came over to play with Carter and Eric. It was so nice because they all get along very well. Carter and Dallin were playing Battlefront II.

She is a sweet little girl. When I would hold her Eric would get upset and wanted to be held also. I wish I could have gotten the picture of Eric giving Kimberly a big hug. It was so sweet. They were both hugging each other.

Christmas decorations

Christmas lights on our home. We added the green and red bulbs to our garage lights. I did make a new wreath for our front door but you can't see it in this picture. Aaron did the lights of course. He did a good job. This is my birthday present from my in-laws. I really like this Nativity. Last year they started the set. It's been a nice multi year gift. Soon it will be completed. I can't wait!! In the spirit of Christmas I added the garland with lights.

Our living room all festive. We did buy a new musical snow globe and a singing christmas tree that dances near the fire place. The kids love playing with them. There is more decor around the house.
Buddy the Elf visits with us every year on December the 1st and leaves on Christmas Eve to help Santa.
Eric got a hold of Buddy. Buddy's nose may never be the same.

I had a Wonderful Day!

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a wonderful day! I went to my friends house to make some homemade Christmas gifts with a bunch of other girlfriends. It was so much fun. My friend Aubri is so creative. I would show you pictures of them but some of you may get them. After that some of my good friends all went to Chili's for my birthday lunch. Eric and Carter came along with the other kids. Here is my best friend Mia and her daughter Emily. Mia organized the luncheon. She did a great job. Thank you!!!

I'm very lucky to have good friends that took the time to celebrate my birthday. We had a blast! I also want to thank everyone who called to wish me a happy birthday. Check my next post for my special gifts.

My Special Gifts

#1 Nicholas made me this birthday card. He taped his clone trooper to the card. The inside of this card is also really neat. He such a sweet kid.

#2 Another sweet kid of mine name Carter drew a picture of me :)
My sweet and loving husband had planned a scavenger hunt for me to find my gift when he got home from work. Well, that didn't happen. I found this piece of paper behind this candle while I was on the phone. I pulled it out and read a rhyme telling me where to go for my next location. Anyways, I ended up finding my gift. I had so much fun!!!!!
#3 This is my gift. The Promise of Love figurine by Willow tree. I love it!
Aaron and I went out to dinner and saw a movie that evening. We had a enjoyable night. I'm very lucky to have a wonderful husband and kids. I love them dearly! I get to celebrate my birthday again on Sunday with my Mom, Dad and sisters. I'll be posting pictures of our Christmas decorations and a Nativity that I got from Aaron's parents. So keep checking the blog.

I'm Thankful for.....

my loving family... and the wonderful time that we share together...
that it wasn't my turn to have Thanksgiving at my house this year...

and for the delicious meal that my little sister Susan prepared. She did a AWESOME job!
that Susan didn't hurt herself while carving her first smoked turkey...
I'm thankful for my sister who worked so hard to prepare this Thanksgiving feast in her new home.

Thanksgiving Fun

There was a lot of excitement on Thanksgiving Day as the weather turned cold and it started to snow (big flakes). We are not used to the white stuff and the kids got really wound up about the "flurries".

Snow cheering is the equivalent to rain dancing. Give me an S....N...O...W!!!!

Susan's place has a nice warm fireplace. Just the perfect setting for relaxing and enjoying a game or two.
Playing with this snow isn't as cold and the music is better than that of the cheer squad. Eric played with this globe for quite a while pushing the button over and over again.
The afternoon was spent sipping warm cider, playing video games, reading the newspaper (looking for good sales!), watching the Santa Clause 3 and enjoying one another's company. A good time was had by all.

Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad. Another year older and wiser. Tammie and I accidentally ordered a larger cake than we had anticipated. Had we known there was that much room on the cake we would have had them add some decorative Peanuts' characters. So, tell you what, just imagine there is a Snoopy and Woodstock dancing on the empty side of that cake.

Thanksgiving with the Hayes Family

We had an early Thanksgiving get together with Aaron's family yesterday. It was kinda of a crazy day. My husband was sick and was unable to go. So I had to make a turkey wreath , bathe the boys, iron their clothes, feed them breakfast and rush to Target to pick up the birthday cake for Dad Hayes, and get lunch for the boys all by myself. I'm so grateful for my husband. When he is not sick he helps me a lot!! I was a little late getting to Kelly's house (about an hour) but it was okay. Mom Hayes had a cute idea to get all the grandkids together for a photo shoot. The only problem was getting all the kids to stay still and smile at the camera. Nick and Carter did a good job. I love the T-shirts. I hope Chrissy got at least one good photo. Here's mine. I didn't take many as it was hard to get a good picture. Whoa, there is a mystery hand supporting Emily. Quite hairy knuckles. I wonder which kid that belongs to? Eric is giving me the look and is wondering, "why do I have to do this Mommy"? He wasn't too happy he actually cried after this picture. All the kids looked cute in their named T-shirts.
Yeah!! Now we can have some fun and play.
I really missed Aaron. It was not the same without him or Jason there. The boys and I had a nice visit though.

Bubbles, Indian and Archery

Our boys always stay busy. Here are some pictures of their recent adventures....

Bubble blowing in the front yard. The weather has been unseasonally warm and beautiful.
Carter was an Indian at his pre-school's Thanksgiving Program.
Nicholas went to a Cub Scout activity where he got to shoot BB guns and do a little Archery.

I've heard that if you bite on your tongue your aim will improve.

Nerf Video

I love to hear the laughter of my boys. Here is a video of Nick showing Eric how to shoot a nerf bullet out of his mouth. Eric thought it was so funny. You can also hear Carter in the background talking about his favorite car.

Halloween

Our Ward had a their annual Trunk-a-Treat, but the boys wanted to go trick or treating in the neighborhood. This was Eric's first time. He was rather shy at first, but quickly got the hang of going up to the doorway and getting some candy.

Okay, so we had a little difficulty getting Eric to stand still and smile for the camera. There is almost nothing that can't be fixed with a red lollipop.

Eric is looking for a place to throw away his lollipop stick. Inside Punk's head would be a good spot. When Aaron and Nicholas went to buy the pumpkin Monday evening, Nicholas wanted to know what the pumpkin's name should be. We traditionally call all our watermelons "Harry" so the pumpkin also needed a name. From now on our pumpkins will be named "Punk".
Oh, I guess those Clonetroopers aren't so scary after all.
